What is astrocartography?
Astrocartography — also called relocation or locational astrology — takes your birth chart and maps it onto a map of the world. At the exact moment you were born, every planet was directly overhead, rising or setting somewhere on Earth, and those positions trace lines across the globe. Living near, or travelling along, a planet’s line is said to turn up the volume on that planet’s themes in your life: Venus for love and beauty, Jupiter for luck and growth, the Sun for success and recognition, Saturn for discipline and mastery.
Each planet draws four lines — the MC (career & reputation), IC (home & roots), AC (identity & fresh starts) and DC (relationships). Where those lines cross a place, that planet colours that part of life for you there. The reading above shows your full world map, the real cities sitting on each beneficial line, and the lines worth approaching with more care.
How Astronaad computes your map accurately
Astronaad doesn’t hand you a generic, AI-invented horoscope. For your exact birth moment we take each planet’s of-date geocentric apparent right ascension and declination from a real astronomical ephemeris, then derive its four lines: the MC and IC meridians, where the planet culminates and anti-culminates, and the AC and DC curves, where it rises and sets at every latitude. This is genuine spherical astronomy — the lines are accurate to a fraction of a degree, and real world cities are matched onto the beneficial ones so the report names actual places.
Because the MC and IC lines shift roughly 15° of longitude for every hour of birth time, an accurate birth time gives the most precise map; the AI step only interprets what the engine has already calculated, in any of 24 languages. Nothing is fabricated.
What your reading tells you
You get an interactive world map of your planetary lines, the real cities on each line, and your places of power grouped by what they favour — love, career, wealth, growth, spirituality and home — alongside the lines to approach with more care. It’s built for self-knowledge and travel inspiration: where you might feel most yourself, most creative, most in love or most driven. It complements a Vedic Kundli reading — the Kundli describes the inner blueprint, while astrocartography shows where on Earth that blueprint expresses most freely. As with any astrology, it’s a lens for reflection, never a guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
- What is astrocartography?
- Astrocartography (also called relocation or locational astrology) maps your birth chart onto a map of the world. For the exact moment you were born, every planet was directly overhead, rising or setting somewhere on Earth — and those positions trace lines across the globe. Living near, or travelling along, a particular planet’s line is said to amplify that planet’s themes in your life: Venus for love, Jupiter for luck and growth, the Sun for success, Saturn for discipline, and so on.
- How does Astronaad calculate my astrocartography lines?
- We compute the real spherical astronomy, not a generic template. For your exact birth moment we take each planet’s of-date geocentric apparent right ascension and declination from an astronomical ephemeris, then derive its four lines: the MC and IC meridians (where the planet culminates and anti-culminates) and the AC and DC curves (where it rises and sets at every latitude). The lines are accurate to a fraction of a degree, and we match real world cities to the beneficial ones. The AI only interprets what the engine computes.
- What are MC, IC, AC and DC lines?
- These are the four angles of the chart projected onto the map. The MC (Midheaven) line governs career, public life and reputation; the IC (Imum Coeli) line governs home, roots and inner peace; the AC (Ascendant or Rising) line governs identity, vitality and fresh starts; and the DC (Descendant) line governs relationships and partnership. Where a planet’s line crosses a place, that planet colours that life area for you there.
- Why does my exact birth time matter so much?
- Astrocartography is acutely birth-time sensitive. The MC and IC meridian lines shift about 15 degrees of longitude for every hour of birth time, so even a small error can move a line across an entire country. We accept your birth time when you know it for the most accurate map; without it the planetary themes still hold, but the precise line placements are approximate.
- Can astrocartography tell me the best place to live or travel?
- It highlights where particular energies are strongest for you — places best aligned with love, career, wealth, growth, spirituality or home — and names the real cities sitting on those lines, plus the lines to approach with more care. It is a tool for self-knowledge and travel inspiration, not a guarantee of outcomes. Your choices, effort and circumstances always matter more than any line on a map.
- Is astrocartography the same as Vedic relocation astrology?
- Astrocartography is rooted in the Western tropical tradition and works with the chart’s angles (MC, IC, AC, DC) projected globally. It complements rather than replaces a Vedic Kundli reading. Many people use the two together: the Kundli for the inner blueprint of the self, and astrocartography for where on Earth that blueprint expresses most freely.
