What a dosha report tells you

In classical Vedic astrology a dosha is a specific affliction in your birth chart — a planetary placement that traditionally signals friction in one area of life until it is balanced. This report checks the four that matter most: Sade Sati (Saturn’s 7.5-year transit over your natal Moon), Kaal Sarp Dosh (every planet hemmed between Rahu and Ketu), Manglik / Mangal Dosh (Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house), and Pitra Dosh (the Sun and 9th house of ancestors afflicted). For each, you learn whether it is present, how strong it is, and exactly which placements cause it.

It is offered as classical Jyotish guidance and cultural comfort — never as fear-mongering, and never as medical, legal, psychological or financial advice.

How Astronaad computes it — and why it’s trustworthy

Every dosha is detected deterministically from your real chart. We compute your planetary positions from a true astronomical ephemeris using the Lahiri ayanamsa — the standard for Vedic calculation — and read the doshas straight from where Saturn, Mars, the Sun and the lunar nodes actually sit relative to your Moon and Lagna. The same birth details always return the same doshas, severities and dated phases, so the result is factual rather than guessed. For Sade Sati you get the exact start and end dates of all three ~2.5-year phases.

Our AI only interprets these findings — warmly, in your chosen language, in one of 24 languages — it never invents a dosha or a remedy the chart does not show.

The remedies you receive

For each dosha that is present, the report assembles a classical remedy plan: the relevant mantra and its count, the deity and puja, the gemstone or rudraksha to wear, the fast (vrat) and day to observe, and the charity (daan) traditionally advised — together with plain do’s and don’ts. A clear chart is told plainly too: no remedy is invented to manufacture worry.

Frequently asked questions

What is a dosha in astrology?
A dosha is a specific affliction in your birth chart — a planetary placement that, in classical Vedic astrology (Jyotish), is said to bring obstacles in one area of life until it is balanced. The four most consequential are Sade Sati (Saturn's 7.5-year transit over the natal Moon), Kaal Sarp Dosh (all planets hemmed between Rahu and Ketu), Manglik or Mangal Dosh (Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house), and Pitra Dosh (the Sun and 9th house afflicted). Astronaad detects each one directly from your real computed chart.
How do I know if I am Manglik (Mangal Dosh)?
You are Manglik when Mars sits in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house, counted from your Lagna (ascendant) or from your Moon. Because this depends on the exact house position of Mars, it can only be settled by computing your chart from your real birth date, time and place — not by your Sun sign. Enter your details above and the report confirms whether Mangal Dosh is present, how strong it is, and the classical cancellations (Mangal Dosh bhanga) that may apply.
What is Kaal Sarp Dosh and is it always harmful?
Kaal Sarp Dosh forms when all seven classical planets fall on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis, leaving the chart “hemmed in” by the lunar nodes. It is associated with delays and a sense of unseen resistance, but it is not a curse — its real impact depends on which houses Rahu and Ketu occupy and how the rest of the chart supports you. The report shows whether your chart forms it and how strongly, instead of treating it as automatically severe.
What is Sade Sati and when does it affect me?
Sade Sati is the roughly seven-and-a-half-year period when transiting Saturn passes through the sign before your Moon, over your Moon, and the sign after — three dated phases of about 2.5 years each. It is felt as a time of pressure, responsibility and maturing. Astronaad computes the exact start and end dates of each phase from your natal Moon, so you know precisely where you stand rather than relying on a generic estimate.
What remedies are suggested, and do they really work?
For every present dosha the report gives a classical remedy set — the relevant mantra and its count, the deity and puja, the gemstone or rudraksha, the fast (vrat) and day to observe, and charity (daan), with clear do's and don'ts. These are offered as traditional Jyotish guidance and cultural practice for focus and reassurance, not as guaranteed outcomes and never as medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
How accurate is Astronaad's dosha detection?
Every dosha is detected deterministically from your real chart — the same birth details always produce the same doshas, severities, dated phases and remedies. The planetary positions come from a true astronomical ephemeris using the Lahiri ayanamsa, the standard for Vedic calculation. Our AI only translates the findings warmly into your language; it never invents a dosha or a remedy that the chart does not show.
